Market Collective is a dynamic and ever-changing group of emerging Calgary artists who collaborate creatively and provide mutual support for those in the throws of turning their art into business.  Periodically they host a gathering where members flaunt and sell their wares.  Wood and metal furnishings, jewelry, glass, ceramics, paper goods, clothing, paintings, and delectable baked goods were showcased.  Location at the precipice of St. Patrick’s Island was outstanding.  Live musicians serenaded us as we sampled craft beer and a plethora of offerings from food trucks. Jay was welcomed at the door and received a veritable outpouring of pets from many attendees.  The event was packed, with nary space to maneuver an elbow on the trade floor, but more room was had outside the tent where ample seating and tables were available.  Dogs should be unfazed by crowds and extremely well-behaved to attend, as there are many young children romping about in cramped quarters.
