Roxboro is the perfect place for an off-leash romp on sun-blazing days, as it offers plenty of shade trees and a dip in the Elbow River for cooling off. A generous amount of benches and two waste bins are offered. The wooded trail is a tranquil walk and a terrific source of scents for nose hounds. The park is unfenced and borders residential streets, a tennis court, playground and cemetery, so recall needs to be reliable to keep everyone safe. Location is adjacent to Elbow Island Park, and the river tends to be clogged with rafters on hot days, so dependable voice control is essential even in the river. No parking lots or washrooms are in place.
