Rumours had been circulating for the past year that Homesense was dog-friendly, however each time I checked with staff, I was told that dogs were not permitted in the store unless they were service animals. This seems to have changed in late 2016, when a manager relayed that dogs were now allowed. As with all listings on this site, we set out to test the information. No one (apart from other shoppers) batted an eye at big Jay, and three different staff members asked to pet him. Homesense is a treasured and popular home goods discount store, so the change in policy is gleefully welcomed. Dogs should be well-mannered and reliably responsive to commands to venture into this store, as it is typically crowded, often with young children, and breakable items abound.
