Tag Bag
The jangle of dog tags while strolling the neighbourhood causes every backyard hound in a three block radius to start crooning. Dogs can hear sounds a kilometre away. With hearing that sensitive, imagine how annoying jingling tags would be. It would be like wearing corduroy pants everyday for the rest of your life.
Nonetheless, it is important to have city license, rabies vaccination info and identification for your dog at hand at all times, and the most convenient way to carry the info is on dog equipment. To keep tags handy but quiet, my preferred method is to use a tag bag on his harness. My favourite tag bag is made by Didsbury company Loft Industries.
What makes the Paw Tracks tag bag superior to all other bags I’ve tried is the sewn on elastic that makes it easy to slip onto his harness, and the ring inside the bag. The bag has a velcro closure that has stayed sealed for many years. After more than a decade of use however, his tag bag opened on walks twice recently. The ring attachment means that the tags did not fall out even when the bag was open. I immediately went out and bought a new Paw Tracks bag, which I expect will keep the tags safe for another decade.
