Albert Park
17th Avenue S & Deerfoot Trail
If you’re feeling a little wild, Albert Park is untamed. Full of unmanicured natural growth, it’s just the ticket for something a little different. Full access to the Bow River is afforded, but the water is deep and fast, so swimmers should be very confident. The close proximity to the weir frankly makes me wary to recommend it as a pooch pool. Access is tricky; the lot for vehicles can only be entered and exited by westbound traffic on 17th Avenue. The park is traversed however by the Bow River Pathway, so foot access is more diverse. The parking lot is atrocious and the off-leash area is accessed by ducking through a tear in the chain-link fence. No amenities are provided.
