Dogs must be on leash at all times.

We are excited to be hosting another Canine Blood Drive on August 12th from 9am-4pm with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank.
You and Your dog will be supporting patients nationwide allowing veterinarians to treat dogs with conditions such as:
-Rat Poison toxicity
-Blunt force trauma
-Cancer therapy support
Requirements to be a Donor:
Healthy and Even Tempered
Weigh 50 pounds or more (but not overweight)
Between 1-8 years
Up to date with vaccinations (but not within 4 weeks of donating)
Not on any medications
Also there will be a registration form to be filled out by both pet owner and primary vet office. This is to ensure your pet is a suitable donor! To make the day go smoother for us, please have them filled out and sent back to us about a week prior to the event!
In recognition of Canada's 150th birthday, the four breeds indigenous to Canada will be highlighted: Newfoundland, Labrador Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and Canadian Eskimo.
The Calgary Humane Society's annual Festival and Fundraiser. Grab a bevvie in the Mutt & Mingle pub, shop at Barkingville Market, pamper Fido at the Paw Spa, and most importantly, help CHS to help our local animals in need.
Bring your dog to Calaway Park to hunt for eggs! Plastic eggs contain a treat and sticker that could win a prize. This is a fund raising event with proceeds supporting National Service Dog. Pre-registration is required via their website.
The Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is holding another blood drive on Dec. 10.
Call 403-770-1340 to make an appointment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donors must be:
• Between 1-7 years of age
• Minimum of 50 pounds
• Even temperament (must be able to be restrained without sedation)
• Up to date on vaccines, but not within four weeks of donating
TIP: Just like O- humans, Greyhounds are universal donors!
Tickets are $10 per dog, but are on sale for half price until October 1st, through Tails of the Misunderstood Canine Rescue (see website). No charge for humans! Free parking. Large indoor doggy play area, separated for under 40lbs/over 40lbs. Huge marketplace this year, over 30 vendors.
