West Elm is a home furnishings store located along the trendy 17th Avenue shopping district. It showcases simple, clean lines in a medium transitional style landing halfway between modern and traditional. Prices are mid-range, a few steps above Ikea but below high-end. Service is just the way I like it – not too intrusive or overbearing when browsing, but handy when you have a question. I noticed a lot of reduced-scale pieces that would be terrific for small spaces. All staff warmly welcomed big, hairy, large tail-waving Jay. The store is busy on weekends; make sure Fido is comfortable navigating between furnishings and a lot of shoppers if you decide to include him in décor decisions.
