Woodside opens the course to canine companions on Sundays after 4:00 pm. Dogs need to be leashed and there are ducks, gulls and rabbits sharing the greens, so be prepared to restrain if your pooch has prey drive. The fairways are playable even for novice golfers. Dogs may not enter the clubhouse but are welcomed on the beautiful outdoor patio for after-game nibbles. The corned beef sandwich was excellent, as was the tortilla soup and the menu boasts a whole section of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Fresh water bowls are available for dogs outside the pro shop and on the patio, and some staff will offer biscuits for well-behaved four-legged guests.
